I had been riding for several years when I purchased my '85 BMW K100 RT. Although I had been looking for a boxer, one ride on the Brick and I was sold. That was in 1997 and I haven't looked back since. The first two months tested my patience and ability to judge ground speed as the entire speedometer system was replaced piece by piece from pick up to the guage. It was during this trying time that Jesse, the mechanic, named her "Christine" after a Stephen King automobile.
